Bridging the Skill-set Gap
Efficient design practices and superior workmanship support customer goals.
The ChallengeA customer unfamiliar with the nuances of properly fitting and routing transducers in a cabinet. |
The SolutionSwagelok designed a cabinet incorporating pre-selected components and Swagelok products to satisfy requirements. |
The ResultThe customer now relies on Swagelok for assembly and testing of all transducer cabinets. |
An OEM with limited experience in transducers was developing a new product line to sell into an industry that conducts wind and aerodynamics testing for F1 and other types of race cars. Having selected the transducers to be used, the customer was challenged on how to install components inside an electrical rack while meeting requirements for vibration resistance and easy maintenance. Taking the selected rack and required components, Swagelok materials were incorporated to create a concept for a cabinet that, when mounted, routed all connections in a very clean and compact way. The cabinet design also included an attractive color face plate consistent with the company’s brand. The new product line was successful, prompting the customer to regularly submit racks and transducers to Swagelok for assembly and testing. Their engineers were now free to focus on other high value work, with Swagelok managing ergonomic and functional layout and the selection of supporting products. Similar situations are often encountered where customers have the design intent and key products selected, then rely on Swagelok to intervene, utilizing our knowledge and expertise to help facilitate delivery of a final solution that achieves their goals. |
